Student loans assignment
College can be very expensive-especially if you aren't awarded any scholarships and/or grants in high school. This activity is designed to show you just how expensive it can be if you have to rely heavily upon student loans. For this assignment, simply follow the steps below:
- Figure out what (and how many) degree(s) will be necessary for your desired occupation. Many jobs that require advanced degrees require multiple degrees. For instance, teaching requires that you earn a bachelor's degree before you start working toward your master's degree. Some professions may require up to 3 degrees.
- If you haven't already found this information in your college research, figure out how much money it will cost to obtain the degree(s) your prospective occupation require(s) at the specific college of your choosing.
- Go to this link and fill out the form at the bottom. If you are confused about some of the terms used in the form, they are explained in the body of text just above the form. If the body of text doesn't help, let me know and I be happy to help you. In order to figure out your percent interest, you must go to this page and figure out for which loans you would be eligible. Once you choose one of the loans mentioned, you can find the interest rate for that specific loan on that same page. It would be wise to read this page closely so you can select the loan with the lowest interest rate (...and, if possible, one that's subsidized).
- After you click the "Calculate" button at the bottom of the form, enter the necessary information into the appropriate locations into this spreadsheet. Don't forget to type your name next to your data-that's how you're going to get credit for this assignment.
